DOB: July 19, 1908; POB: Texarkana, Arkansas. Reared in McKinney, TX. Graduated from Univ. of Texas Law School and practiced law in Pampa, TX. Represented Texas 18th Congressional District for eight terms, from 1951 to 1966. Texas Congressman riding in motorcade 11/22/63. Witnessed assassination. DOD: May 31, 2001, in Naples, FL. Survived by wife Catherine of Naples, FL; six children: John Edward, of Manhattan Walter Edward, Jr., Thomas Kelly, Susan Rogers Healey, all of Washington, D.C. area; Robert Peter Joseph of Seely Lake, Montant; Samantha rogers Cutter of Boca Raton, FL; a brother, Fred Rogers, of Austin, TX; twelve grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
