Starting in late fall of 1956, he operated an arm of the CIA called Air Sea Forwarders near Los Angeles International Airport. In 1981, Rautenberg filed a breach of contract suit against E-Systems of Dallas, a company that builds espionage equipment for the CIA and Pentagon.
