DOB: May 9, 1918; POB: Minneapolis, Minnesota. Married Jane Shields. From 1955 until 1961, he was Governor of Minnesota. Throughout John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson Administrations, he was Secretary of Agriculture. He was aboard Cabinet Plane on 11/22/63, that left Hickam Field (Hawaii) for Japan at 8:03 a.m. (Hawaiian time) (11:03 a.m. Central time).
