Fabled agent for OSS and CIA. CIA officer in Saigon Nov. 1963. The CIA has 100-125 documents about Conein, "virtually all of which concern the establishment, maintenance and use of cover for Subject during his career with the Agency as a military detailee and Career Agent from 1954-1968." Died June 3, 1998, at Suburban Hospital at age 79. Born in Paris, France, grew up in Kansas City, Missouri. Survived by wife of 41 years, Elyette B. Conein, of McLean; 6 sons, one daughter, 11 grand children and 1 great grandchild.
